The 2024 BMW i5 sedan is a new addition to the brand's electric vehicle lineup. Each sedan is designed elegantly, and the luxurious interiors boast advanced technology. The construction of the new BMW i5 is geared to provide the ultimate handling ability on Florida's roads and highways.
The base eDrive 40 powertrain features a rear-mounted electric motor and an 84.3-kWh battery to generate 335 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Each sedan also has an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Engaging the Sport mode enables the vehicle to temporarily increase the output to 317 pound-feet of torque. When fully charged, eDrive 40 sedans travel up to an EPA-estimated 295 miles.
For more power, consumers in the greater Orlando region might prefer a sedan having the M60 xDrive configuration that combines the battery pack with a motor on each axle to provide AWD. The upgrade enables the vehicle to deliver 590 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque. In Boost mode, the sedan gets 605 pound-feet of torque and travels up to 256 miles on a full charge. Replenishing the battery pack by 70% at a fast charging station takes approximately 30 minutes.
The exterior of the BMW i5 is available in 12 different colors, including five hues of metallic gray and two shades of metallic black in addition to metallic white, two shades of metallic blue, metallic green, and metallic red.

The standard assist and safety features selection includes front collision warnings with mitigation intervention and left-turn alerts. Blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assistance help prevent collisions on either side. Should the driver not respond quickly, rear cross-traffic alerts are accompanied by automatic emergency braking. The assist technology helps alleviate the stress and struggle associated with parking.
Adding the optional Assistance Professional package allows you to drive hands-free at speeds up to 85 mph. Lane changes are accomplished using visual activation by gazing into the exterior mirror on the side where the driver desires to turn.
